Sessions are personally guided and adapted to the current state of the person or group. The approach is responsive — with a focus on the current state of those in the room.
No equipment is required. Participants can join from the workplace, home office or another quiet environment — seated comfortably, or lying down when space allows. Participants are not asked to achieve a particular state or perform — they simply follow the guidance at their own pace, creating the conditions for the nervous system to regulate itself.

Research
The science behind the method
The sessions draw on a range of practice-based protocols — including autogenic training, Non-Sleep Deep Rest (NSDR), guided imagery and structured somatic awareness — used to guide the nervous system toward a state of deep physiological rest.
These are not passive relaxation techniques. They engage the body's regulatory mechanisms and support repeatable recovery processes. Peer-reviewed research has examined their relationship with cognitive recovery, dopamine-related mechanisms, cortisol regulation and other physiological and psychological outcomes.
Research has examined how structured NSDR and yoga nidra protocols influence the restoration of cognitive resources and dopaminergic function following sustained mental effort. A PET imaging study demonstrated increased endogenous dopamine release in the ventral striatum during yoga nidra meditation, providing neurochemical evidence for the restorative effects of deliberate rest states.

A comprehensive meta-analysis of 60 clinical studies examined autogenic training across a range of stress-related conditions. Findings indicated positive effects on self-reported stress recovery, anxiety, sleep disturbance and physiological indicators of autonomic nervous system balance — supporting its use as a structured method for parasympathetic recovery.

Research on wakeful rest has found that brief periods of deliberate, undemanding rest after cognitive effort significantly boost long-term memory consolidation — without the need for sleep. These effects remain detectable days later, suggesting that structured rest supports genuine neural recovery rather than mere subjective relaxation.

Structured somatic awareness and body-scan practices have been studied in relation to autonomic nervous system activity. Short-term body scan meditation has been shown to produce immediate cardiovascular and autonomic effects — including shifts toward parasympathetic dominance — the physiological state associated with rest and regulatory recovery.
